Fiona Donald’s focus is always with the familiar and apparent and finds it’s roots in observation; what is seen; lived with; and felt over time. Her working practice is driven from a sense of urgency when working from direct experience. Visual marks are fluid and heavily felt. They move across the page capturing pathways, trajectories and points, whilst tracing the movement of passing time.
Through this constant analysis, Fiona seeks to visualise a reciprocal conversation that takes place between the motif, the image and herself, trying to find a connection to ‘the thing’, its energy and the energy of its surroundings.
Fiona is currently studying on the MA Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University.
