Fiona Donald’s focus is always with the familiar and finds it’s roots in observation; what is seen; lived with; and felt over time. Her working practice is driven from a sense of urgency when working from direct experience. The drawings encapsulate the beginning and the end of things, the cycles and rhythms of the natural world, tracing the movement of passing time.
Through this constant analysis, Fiona seeks to visualise a reciprocal conversation that takes place between the motif, the image and herself, trying to find a connection to ‘the thing’, its energy and the energy of its surroundings.
Fiona has an M.A in Fine Art (2013) from Manchester Metropolitan University and has taken part in exhibitions throughout Europe and the UK.
